Laptime with Grandpa Walter

Cassidy got to spend some laptime with her Grandpa Walter this past weekend. Shhh, just don't tell Cappy!

Bath time with daddy

I had to get approval from Robert to make sure he would let me post this picture, because I couldn't resist it. If you know Robert, you know he loves his baths and takes one everyday and so now the legacy continues with Cassidy. My two bathing beauties!

Cassidy goes to the zoo

Cassidy made her first official visit to the zoo. She was actually there on January 9, 2006, but in mommy's belly. We just happened to be there again on the same day, by the same turtle, one year later, January 9, 2007. I had much more fun this time:)

Playtime with Grayson

Cassidy's cousin Grayson came to visit for a whole week while his mommy and daddy were on vacation. There was plenty of playtime, nap time (for the adults as well) and adventure.

Grayson showing Cassidy what it will be like to have all her teeth someday!

Cassidy's first train ride

We promised Grayson we would take him for a ride on the zoo train before he left to go home. Because this was Cassidy's first train ride, I was probably more excited than she was. Little did I know at the time, this was the day before Cassidy became sick with a fever, so, as evidenced by the photos below Cassidy wasn't in the mood for the train ride or picture taking. Grayson on the other hand, couldn't contain his happiness

Caught!

Cassidy was taking a longer nap than usual today because she woke up with a fever this morning. Little did I know how much a few hours can change a sick baby. She went to sleep not feeling well, and woke up...well, I heard her breathing heavy and struggling and I thought the worst, but my "sick baby" was feeling much better and trying to be a little escape artist!

Time for the mattress to go down and the bedrails to go up!

Floppy seat adventure

Cassidy got to try out her floppy seat today for the first time. For those of you that don't know what a floppy seat is, it is a cover that is made for shopping carts and highchairs for germophobic mommies like me:) I decided it was time and tried not to think about the germs she could possibly come in contact with, besides, I can't shelter her forever, right? Or can I?

I almost cried and changed my mind when I put her in her seat, she just looked too tiny for the big grocery cart!

Eight months old

Cassidy is eight months old today! I can't believe how fast time has gone by...she was my 7lb. 1 oz. tiny baby just yesterday, or at least it seems like yesterday. As of three weeks ago, she weighed in at 17.6 lbs. She is becoming quite the big girl, but attempting to feed herself is her favorite big girl activity.

New Year's Resolution

Cassidy has already started on her New Year's resolution to work on those rolls mommy mentioned on the last post...better her than me! Thanks to her buddy Scarlett giving Cassidy her jumper because she no longer needs it since she is walking now, Cassidy is getting all the benefits of it! I don't know who enjoys it more, Cassidy or daddy and I watching her!

Although her exercise regimen can be fun, it also has its intense moments.

Apparently I was getting too close to the princess, because her bodyguard had to step in behind her to protect her!

Baby New Year

She's not the true baby of the new year, but she is the best baby of the new year! Some useful and/or useless information to start out the new year: the tradition of using a baby to signify the new year began in Greece around 600 BC. Although the early Christians denounced the tradition as pagan, the church finally allowed its members to celebrate the new year with a baby which was to symbolize the birth of baby Jesus.

Cassidy has more rolls than a NY bakery:)
