Ride 'em Moosie!

We had Robert's family Christmas on Saturday at PaPa Walter's house. Aunt Terri and Uncle Steve gave Cassidy and Addison matching rocking moose, and those were two happy girls!

Just a rocking

Cassidy's new thing is to climb on to the rocking chair in the living room and show us what a big girl she is by rocking, but I think she is just doing it to stay close to the Christmas tree and presents.

Silly, rabbit...I mean, girl

We went to Six Flags on Friday and Cassidy not being a big fan of Santa's was also not too thrilled to see Bugs Bunny or Daffy Duck. She lays her head on my shoulder when she is scared (like in the picture with them) and after we walked away she continued to look at them through and around my legs.

Playing at the Museum

Cassidy and I went to the children's museum a few weeks ago on a cold, wet day and she (we) had a lot of fun. She was a busy girl dancing with the fish, driving the bus, brushing some big teeth , checking out the airplane, playing the organ, and finding all the critters that live in the big oak tree.

Christmas portraits

These pictures went much better than her Santa pictures:)

Playing with peanuts

Who needs toys when you have packing peanuts and a box to play with...not Cassidy! She even managed to pull some Christmas decorations through her peanut maze.

Scary Santa!

I took Cassidy to get some pictures with Santa and it didn't go quite as well as it did last year. Poor Santa, he tried so hard. The only picture of her not crying was the one where I am holding her and you can see my arms. Oh well, we will try again next year if I haven't traumatized her too much!

Party time!

Cassidy helped her friend Scarlett celebrate her first birthday by playing hard at Gymboree. There were slides, balance beams, lots of balls, big and small, tunnels, bubbles, parachutes, rocking horses and of course, cake, but Cassidy had to stick with fruit...poor baby. Aside from the cake allergies, Cassidy had a great time.

Three Amigos!

Nonna bought camo outfits for Cassidy and her cousins, Grayson and Cameron. Grayson's shirt was different, but Cassidy and Cameron had shirts with ruffles to girl the camo up a bit...cute!

Uncle Dale

Cassidy has seen Grayson several times over the last year and a half, but has only seen her Uncle Dale and Aunt Pam once when she was three months old. So, she got reacquainted with her Uncle Dale while we were at the zoo and riding the train.

Kissing Cousins

Cassidy's cousin Grayson is in town for Thanksgiving with his parents and new baby sister, Cameron. After a trip to the zoo, Cassidy went to the Alamo for the very first time. I want to know if this is how the phrase "kissing cousins" came about?

A-Maize-ing Farm Fun

We went to Hondo yesterday to have some fun at the corn maize and farm they have there. Cassidy didn't know where to begin as there were a few of her favorite things there...tractors, animals and hay, oh my! We did go into the corn maize, and Cassidy had a lot of fun navigating the trails, but we had to take a short cut out because we would have been in there all day if it had been up to her:)

Hail to the Chief...

Cassidy was mere inches from the President and Texan, George W. Bush last night. He was in town and attended a private event at a home on our street. The Presidential motorcade drove right past our home on their way out. Cassidy being that sick wasn't that impressed, but come on, how often does the President of the United States drive right past your front door.

Oh Croup!

Cassidy has been one sick little girl. She woke up with a high fever on Saturday, her 18 month birthday, and has been sick ever since. After our 3AM visit to the ER on Thursday morning because of Cassidy having trouble breathing, we discovered Cassidy has Croup. The doctor said she should be back to her happy little self in about a week, but until then nobody but mommy will do. Mommy will need to visit a PT after all of this from carrying my big baby girl around all the time.

18 Months Old

Our baby is growing up. She is 1 1/2 today. The last year and a half has been awesome. Cassidy has been nothing, and I mean nothing but pure love, fun, laughs and entertainment. Our once shy Cassidy has now turned into quite the ham and she loves an audience. She walks, runs, marches and trips a lot (that runs in the family). She can sing e-i-e-i from Old MacDonald, and she loves playing ring-around-the-rosie. She gives kisses on a regular basis and for no apparant reason, she will just walk up to you and say "kiss." She loves tractors, airplanes, puppies, babies and daddy, mentioning all of them several times a day. She has even started saying mommy, but I still get the occasional "puppy." She can make a horse, cow, puppy, kitty, tiger, lamb, duck, owl, snake, rooster and elephant noise and she pounds on her chest when you ask her what the gorilla says. Her vocabulary, I believe is limitless. I have to keep adding words she is saying to her journal on a daily basis. She now says things that I have only mentioned a few times, like shoes, socks and moon. She loves her baths, books and snacks, but not necessarily in that order. Jack is still her favorite puppy, and she is finally warming up to Lady. We look forward to the joys Cassidy will continue to bring our family and we are so thankful and blessed to have our sweet Cassidy.

Playtime in the yard

Score: Cassidy 1 Shirt 1

Apparently Cassidy got into a wrestling match with her shirt yesterday during naptime, but it was a tie. Cassidy got one arm out and then I guess tuckered out. She woke up with her shirt in the same position, and wasn't real happy that mommy was taking pictures of her as she was waking up.

Playful Ladybug

On Halloween night, we went to a local church that was having a festival so Cassidy could play and mommy could get more candy. Each game had a religious themed name.

Cassidy is playing Samson Toy Bowling
Here she is playing Fishers of Men and Robert is apparently sleeping
Then she played Planting God's Word
And this game was Throw Away Your Sins
